With MyServer.org Silver Domain Service you can have your own fully qualified Domain Name (www.yourdomain.com)  which allows others out on the Internet the ability to access your computer, or servers, with a friendly name instead of a hard to remember numbered address (such as 68.15.187.28). You also get the ability to instantly add, delete, and change your domains (A Records, CNAME, and MX Records) along with the ability to create an unlimited number of A Records, MX Records, and CNAME records. Most Dynamic DNS services limit you on the number of each record type you can create, charge extra fees for this ability, or do not allow you to manage your records independently (using a wildcard record to point everything to a single IP address).

Our Silver Domain solution will allow you the ability to run your own web server over your existing Broadband connection at a much lower cost then most web hosting companies charge and without the annoying pop up advertising messages most free web site hosting companies deploy. You also have access to our easy to use domain management console which allows the tracking of domain expiration dates, registration information, registrar usernames and passwords. This allows you the ability to avoid potentially troublesome and/or costly situations resulting from a domain expiring and being registered by another party. This service is the perfect solution for startup companies with startup budgets or the computer user that wants total control over his web server.

Provided your ISP does not block ports such as 80,25,110  you can run all the popular server software such as IIS, File sharing servers, IRC servers, Personal Web Server,Mail servers, FTP Servers, Gaming servers, and much, much more.

SmartPOP MailCatcher Service. In the event your E-Mail server goes off-line, our redundant E-Mail Servers will pickup your messages and retain them until your server comes back online. We include 5MB of storage and 50MB transfer a month in our base Silver Domain Service price. Additional bandwidth can be purchased separately as needed.

Own more than one domain name? Well, you only need one account to add up to 10 domains to your logon. Other services charge a per domain fee. We can attach each domain to your account and you can manage all the records for each domain with a single login. This offer is only valid if the registrant information for the domain matches your account information with our service

Already have your web/mail servers outsourced with a web hosting company? With MyServer.org's Silver Domain Solution you have the ability to move your Domain to another hosting company without interrupting service to your web site(s) or E-Mail. If at some point in time you wish to switch hosts, or your host becomes temporarily or permanently unavailable, you no longer have to wait days for the InterNIC changes to take effect. This not only saves time but avoids potential loss of sales and E-Mail. One click of the mouse and your domain(s) is instantly pointed to your new hosting service.

In addition we provide you with all of the tools you will need to manage your domain(s) from any computer running Windows 95-2000/XP and connected to the Internet. If you are running any other operating system, such as Linux or MacOS, we do have a web based IP update console you can use which provides all the same functionality as the stand alone DNS App for Windows.

Depending on what organization your domain is registered with it may take between 24-48 hours for your domain to show up on our DNS servers. Until that time your account will show "Pending Domain Transfer" status.

While your registrar is making the appropriate change, and the change propagates to all the root servers on the Internet, your domain may not function properly. This is beyond our control. After your domain is transferred/registered to our DNS servers you will be able to logon and set up your DNS information and all changes made to your DNS records on our servers will then show up instantly to people browsing to your domain.

 

Special Note:
Before signing up for our Silver Domain Services we suggest that you use our automated port sniffer to identify whether or not your your Broadband Internet provider is currently blocking ports on your connection. This tool will detect the presence of your web server, mail server, etc. It will not however sniff for the presence of an open port without anything running on it, you must have either a mail, web or other server type actively listening on your server. In order for the tool to work properly you must also have the port open and accessible on your routeable IP address. If you are using any type of firewall\router appliance you should open these ports before starting the detection process. If you need assistance checking your situation please feel free to post on our support forum. We are more than happy to assist you. Please note Network solutions updates their records twice a day, 5 AM and 5PM EST. please allow 24 hours for the DNS changes to take effect. InterNic charges  $35.00 / year per domain, this is not included in the price of our services.  You are responsible for the InterNic registration fees.
